The Nymphenburg Palace is a summer residence of Bavarian electors and kings. During a walking tour you will be enchanted by an elegant palace, wonderful park with cascade, graceful pavilions, picturesque lakes and canals. The palace is famous for its "Gallery of Beauties" commisioned by the Bavarian King Ludwig I. There are so many fascinating stories attached to each painting. The Great Hall with ceiling frescoes lavishly decorated by Johann Baptist Zimmerman is really impressive. Amalienburg is a small palace in Nymphenburg park, a witty rococo gem is considered among the most charming European architectural creations of the period.

The palace houses the Museum of Man and Nature, the Porcelain Museum and the Marstallmuseum (Museum of carriages and sleighs).

"The Palace of Nymphs" was designed as the place for relaxing and entertainment. Concerts and theatrical performances take place in the Nymphenburg Palace nowadays. In summertime like a hundred years ago visitors might take a gondola ride, in wintertime - go skating on a frozen Nymphenburg canal:)
